Smoothie Week: Cacao Banana Superfood Smoothie
Eeek! It’s finally here — a whole week of smoothie recipes just for you!
To make sure all these smoothies turned out just right, I had a friend of mine come over and taste test them all with me so I could get a second opinion. Even better, her mom tagged along so I got another set of taste buds to try ’em out.
One of the first recipes I wanted to try consisted of banana, yogurt, coconut milk, and Aloha’s Daily Greens in the Chocolate Cacao flavor. I’ve heard great things about it so I bought myself a 15-pack to try. I’m usually not a fan of supplements but all of the ingredients in the superfood powder were real ingredients with no preservatives or unpronounceable items.
I was pleasantly surprised.
At first, we felt like there wasn’t enough chocolate but within a few minutes, the flavors melded together and it was actually the perfect amount of sweetness matched with a grounding, earthy flavor thanks to the Aloha Daily Greens powder. That being said, if you find you do want it a bit sweeter, adding a tablespoon of your favorite cocoa powder would help up the chocolate flavor.
I could see drinking this after working out or taking the kids on an outing. Heck, I could even see myself drinking this at night for an easy, healthy sweet treat.
If you want a little extra protein, you could add a tablespoon or two of your favorite organic peanut butter.
- ¼ cup full-fat yogurt
- ¼ cup desired milk (I did coconut milk)
- 1 banana, cut into a couple pieces
- 1 pack Aloha Chocolate Cacao Daily Greens
- 1 cup ice cubes
- Place the ingredients in your blender in the order listed above.
- Blend until smooth.
Be sure to check back tomorrow for the next smoothie in this week-long series!
Great post with lots of impnatrot stuff.
