Stove-top Cinnamon Maple Oatmeal
Growing up, I remember my mom used to make the perfect oatmeal.
Seriously, I swear she was the oatmeal maker master. She’d microwave it to just the right temperature, put just the right amount of milk, so that it would be just the right consistency. Then she’d always tell me to be careful with the center, so I would work my way around the edges that were quickly cooled from the milk.
Ah, memories.
To recreate my beloved childhood memory of oatmeal, I used three simple ingredients (besides the oats): pure maple syrup, a little bit of cream, and cinnamon sprinkled on top. Isn’t that easy?
You can customize it to how much syrup, cream, and cinnamon you want, and when you find that perfect combination, it’s some of the best tasting oatmeal you’ll ever eat. Although the consistency is not the same because it’s made on the stove versus the microwave, it really hits home with me.
I love simplicity. I love real food. And I love this maple cinnamon oatmeal.
